Tony's Pasta Shop & Trattoria sits comfortably on High Street in Chattanooga, offering a classic Italian restaurant experience with a local twist. This spot feels lively yet approachable, making it a solid pick whether you're planning a relaxed family dinner, a casual date night, or a midweek lunch.

The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between cozy and bustling—expect some wait times during busy evenings, especially on weekends, as locals seem to keep returning. The outdoor patios provide a pleasant option for those who enjoy dining al fresco, especially on milder days when Chattanooga’s river breeze adds to the laid-back vibe.

The menu focuses on traditional Italian comfort foods, with plenty of familiar favorites like lasagna, spaghetti with marinara and meatballs, and chicken parmigiana. There’s also a creative edge with options like Low Country Linguine and seafood ravioli, reflecting a willingness to blend local flavors into classic recipes. Crafting your own pasta bowl or pizza lets you tailor your meal if you’re in the mood to experiment.

One highlight many guests seem to appreciate is the complimentary Whole Clove Garlic Bread topped with Pecorino cheese—a simple starter that sets a welcoming tone. Portion sizes lean generous, and dishes such as the chicken tetrazzini and grilled salmon pasta show attention to hearty, satisfying meals rather than minimalist plating.

Service tends to be consistent and attentive, adding to the overall comfort of the visit without feeling rushed or overly formal. The combination of good service and steady quality helps Tony’s work for a range of occasions: from unhurried dates soaking in the scenery to family dinners where the menu’s variety keeps everyone happy.

If you plan to visit, aiming for earlier dinner hours or weekdays might help avoid the regular crowds, but if you don’t mind a wait, the lively atmosphere inside—especially around the weekend—feels like part of the local dining rhythm here.

Another Chattanooga favorite.. loved this place. We waiting for about 40 minutes for a table and there were people constantly filing in for a table. It was constant, you can tell they are a favorite. The menu offering is as Italian favorites and craft your own pasta bowls and pizzas. We got a handmade pasta and a ravioli. We got to sit outside on the few patios they have. It’s a very nice restaurant that can handle a lot of people. Our waitress was nice and our drinks came out fast. Also, loved the bread that was included on the table Loved this place!

Absolutely lovely Italian Restaurant in a nice quiet area of the city near the River! Proper good traditional Italian cuisine! Service was superb and the food was even better. I had homemade Linguine in a tomato and basil sauce with chicken and it was delightful. The pasta was lovely and the tomato and basil sauce was so fresh it was just so so good. Price was fairly reasonable also and there was a good selection of dishes on the menu! Can't recommend this place enough probably some of the best Italian food i have had outside of Italy.

I’ve visited a few times now, and the food has always been excellent! The service is consistently good as well. This spot works perfectly for both date nights and casual lunches. It can get a bit lively at times, but the atmosphere and scenery still make it well worth the visit.

Truly enjoyed our dinner. My husband and I split the Caesar salad, nothing to brag about. My chicken parm was delicious. Hubby really enjoyed his lasagna. Lots of wonderful bread that was soft on the inside just how we like it. We definitely go back.

This certainly ranks as one of the best Italian dining experiences in my life, with great flavors, great atmosphere, and a perfect environment. The wait staff was also to notch. We did have a 45 minute wait, but this was well worth the experience on the eve of the Mainx24 events in Chattanooga. We celebrated our anniversary on this trip.

This restaurant never disappoints. We have been here to eat every time we visit Chattanooga to enjoy a delicious dining experience. The atmosphere is wonderful - very romantic with lights. The service is excellent - Andrew took good care of us on our visit. He was very attentive and checked in with us throughout the meal. He provided us with some recommendations on wine and meal selections. He did not steer me wrong. Their homemade pasta is perfectly crafted and tastes delicious. The portions are huge. We ordered spaghetti bolognese and chicken tetrazzini - you can really taste seasonings and herbs in both dishes. We then enjoyed tiramisu - don’t miss out on this dessert. Their bread service is phenomenal also - the garlic boule is a favorite. Please make this one of your stops for a fantastic meal in Chattanooga.

I travel alot for work and im a huge Italian food connoisseur, Tony's was both in beautiful location and great atmosphere. For those who are not familiar and the GPS takes you to overpass, it's a full roundabout and there is parking near the restaurant. Not going to lie, the Spaghettini Con Crudo was both visually good and delicious. The pine nuts, definitely was a first. The bread was really good as well, I sprung for the desert, neapolitan ice cream with cashews. They paired greatly, not a combo I would of thought of. Service was great, the greeter, she was very friendly and a good smile and the waitress was attentive and patient with me, since this was my first time in Tennessee and the first restaurant I chose. Overall, the food, the price, and the experience was really worth it. Definitely recommend them.
